PROTOTYPE
USER TESTING
After we had a workable first prototype we gathered participants who were instructed to test the prototype
TASKS TO COMPLETE:
-
Find a previously watched video under a sound
-
Create a new collection

Locate where to create a group chat
-
Share a video to a group chat
MAIN TRENDS:
-
Task 1 required users to be somewhat well versed with the app TikTok, the feature “Previously Watched” builds on a pathway only TikTok users would be familiar with
-
After users completed Task 2 and gained an understanding of “Collections” they performed Task 3 with more ease
Add a video to a collection
-
Task 2 and 3 incorporated a similar function from another social media app. We suspect users well versed with other social media platforms found Task 3 and 4 easier than those who are not
Share a video to a group chat
-
Users performed Task 4 and 5 with the greatest ease, group chat functions are universally used in other apps. Our app flow follows a similar path other apps use
-
Overall, casual users are less likely navigate to their profile, which creates difficulty when attempting to find things located there
The bar chart below shows the success rate of all the participants compared over the 5 tasks:
Participants showed the highest perceived ease for Task 4 and 5
